Special Event: Celebrating the Tudor Room

Special Event: Celebrating the Tudor Room In-Person

Please join us to celebrate the restoration and refurbishment of the landmark Tudor Dining Room, an architectural treasure that originally opened in 1911 to support courses in the domestic arts, as well as special occasions at Teachers College. We will share details of the work funded through the generosity of the Myers Foundations and provide a tour of the room, including historic portraiture and the unveiling of the recent artwork, "Peacing Shirley," painted by Ms. Monben Mayon, 2022 commissioned artist. Monben's mixed media installation, which was based on her portrait of Shirley Chisholm, featured in the Kasser Family Exhibition Space, with an accompanying Everett Cafe book display, Representations of Black Women in 20th Century United States and Beyond, in Fall 2022.

Refreshments will be served after the ribbon cutting ceremony.
