Opening Reception: Artivism: Art from the Heart

Opening Reception: Artivism: Art from the Heart In-Person

Please join artivists as we celebrate the Offit Gallery opening of Art from Heart, a multi-venue exposition of works created in the spirit of love and generosity. This exhibit is the culimination of the year's program of weekly talks, workshops, and other events that explore and discuss a variety of themes with shared vision and hope for a better world.

Previous annuals were entitled Art for a Purpose and Wearable Art for a Purpose, and the Monday series of virtual offerings will resume again in the Fall of 2024 for an eighth season.

All are welcome and refreshments will be served, as we congratulate students, teachers, and others who contributed their inspirational work and voices. The opening reception includes a special performance by Claremont Strings and Ensemble, beginning at 5:30pm.

Persons not affiliated with Teachers College, Columbia University may RSVP via online support, using the drop down menu in the "Subject Category" to enter details, so that a confirmation can then be sent.

Artivism: The Power of Art for Social Transformation aims to generate community through multidisciplinary teamwork for a more dignified and meaningful coexistence. The overarching goal is to nurture confidence in taking continuous action from wherever we are by means of reciprocity.

Artivism: The Power of Art for Social Transformation is jointly sponsored by Adelphi University, Sing for Hope, and the Gottesman Libraries. A movement with committed social artivists, Artivism: The Power of Art Social Transformation, grew out of Illuminations of Social Imagination: Learning From Maxine Greene, (Dio Press, 2019), edited by Teachers College alumni Courtney Weida and Carolina Cambronero-Varela, and Dolapo Adeniji-Neill, of Adelphi University.
